Avi Weisfogel practices dentistry and has always been fascinated by teeth, which prompted him to join dentistry field. He is well known as the best doctor in New Jersey where he grew up and has won the titles of the best dentist over the years. He got his first degree in psychology and biology at Rutgers University and later got his Dentist degree from New York College of Dentistry. He also helps patient with sleep disorders, in particular, Sleep Apnea, a sleeping disorder that interrupts breathing while sleeping. He also run sleep programs and teaches other dentists how to treat patients experiencing sleeping problems.
It is known that Children born with cleft palate, cleft lip, or other facial deformities and do not get help, the condition is likely to aggravate and lead to other health problems. Avi Weisfogel, cause for running a GoFundMe campaign, has been prompted by his conviction that every child deserves to access to the very best care available. Operation Smile goal is to identify practical solutions that can be availed to many children as possible. The organization works along with other medical professionals, governments, hospitals, and other agencies that facilitate various surgical care models.
Operation Smile got started in 1982 in Virginia Beach, by Bill and Kathy Magee. The idea was born after they made a trip to help people born with facial deformities in Philippines. They noticed that many people wanted help, but due to financial constraints, they were turned away. Witnessing helpless people being turned away prompted them to start Operation Smile. Each year, Operation Smile conduct medical missions all over the world and depending on site resources, specific missions may require medical expertise and equipment importation. Weisfogel is a leading supporter of Operation Smile, and the goal of his Campaign is set at $2000 backed by his passion for ensuring that all children have hope for healthier tomorrow regardless of what life throw back at them.
