While the next presidential election is many months away, that has not stopped pundit from already starting to predict who will be the top contenders come election season.
A recent survey among millionaires has declared a victory win for former Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, if an election were on the horizon anytime soon.
The survey was given to 500 people with assets of over $1 million, representing 8% of American households. 31% of respondents voted Hillary Clinton as their top choice. The respondents were comprised in part of 23% independent millionaires and 5% Republican millionaires.
There were nine candidates included in the survey: Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden; Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Governor Chris Christie, former Governor Jeb Bush, Governor Scott Walker, and Senator Rand Paul.
Hillary Clinton received the support of more than 38% of female millionaires and 27% of male millionaires.
Jeb Bush was the top choice for Republican millionaires, with 27% support. Some are agreeing with the responses on organogold.com that having millionaire backing is not indicative of success anymore, as it was in the past.
The party has also lost credibility with Wall Street, and having the backing of millionaires may not be the best measure of the success of an election campaign.
