Plastic surgery has sometimes put a bad taste in the mouths of many, but Mark Mofid has made it his career to improve the field. He has made a name for himself focusing on safety and putting the patient first, often advising against more expensive–but possibly more dangerous–surgeries with larger implants. He has also put his mind to work to improve and innovate like few others in his profession have. Seeing an opportunity, Mark Mofid set to work to reinvent much of what was accepted in the field of gluteal augmentation.
A common problem in the gluteal augmentation industry was the quality of the implants available to patients. They were generic and did not fit to the human form as well as Mark Mofid liked. So he set to work to design a better implant. His new implant had much better intramuscular positioning, a lower profile, and improved ratios. It also passed the most important test: it looked better. This innovation and reliance on safety have led to a solid reputation which drew the attention of patients and colleagues alike.
Mark Mofid has also reached out to another well-known practitioner of gluteal augmentation: Dr. Raul Gonzalez. Practicing in Brazil, where augmentation procedures outnumber those in the USA 20-to-1, Dr. Gonzalez is no stranger to the field. Patients can feel secure in the knowledge that the best minds in the industry are working together to advance the field of gluteal augmentation.
Dr. Mark Mofid is certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His office is in La Jolla in San Diego County, servicing both La Jolla and San Diego proper. He received his undergraduate degree at Harvard, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he studied general surgery in addition to plastic surgery. In addition, he is also a staff surgeon at a few San Diego-area hospitals.
